Organic Prickly Pear Seed Oil

Prickly pear seed oil is cold-pressed, organic and unrefined. A 100% pure oil for skin and hair. This oil has been around since the beginning of Chleopatra and has taken the cosmetic world by storm, and for good reason. It is extremely rich in E & K vitamins, essential fatty acids and antioxidants. All goodies that deliver nourishment to the skin to help repair and regenerate.

The oil delivers moisture and restores skin elasticity while reducing/preventing free radicals (which age the skin). We especially like to place drops of this oil directly under the eyes before bedtime, it helps reduce those eye bags and you'll feel and look as fresh as a daisy!

How to use

How do you use prickly pear seed oil?

 

Just a drop or two goes a long way with this incredibly delicious and fragrant oil. Many people also use it as a facial serum under other face creams.

Apply the oil to the T-zone, for example, and gently massage it into the skin. Let it absorb and enjoy the silky result.

NOTEThis is also an oil that is particularly suitable for people who spend long periods of time in front of a computer screen.

Enrich your favourite cosmetic or organic cream base with prickly pear cactus. Add 5 ml for every 100 ml of cream or lotion. You can add a few drops of prickly pear oil to the mask of your favourite mineral clays.

Can prickly pear seed oil be used on the skin?

Yes, prickly pear seed oil is a vegetable oil and is therefore particularly suitable for the skin.

Can prickly pear cactus oil be used on the face?

Prickly pear cactus is almost made for the face. In other words, yes, it's great for the face. Especially due to its high natural content of vitamin E.

Prickly pear cactus seed oil can be applied directly to the skin as it is both mild and great for the skin.

Prickly pear seed oil can be used for hair. However, there are other oils that are more economical for hair, such as baobab oil. If you do use this oil on your hair, it is recommended that you concentrate on the scalp and the ends of your hair.

Prickly pear seed oil gives the skin a super soft, almost silky feel after application. It is super rich in vitamin E and therefore particularly suitable for aniseed as a true anti-ageing aniseed oil.

Technically yes, but we would recommend a different oil. The oil is simply too expensive to use and, for many, too fast absorbing, making it unsuitable for use as a massage oil for most people. We would recommend an almond oil or coconut oil instead.

It is possible to use prickly pear seed oil as a base oil, but due to the price, there are many oils that are recommended over this one. For example, jojoba oil.

Yes, prickly pear seed oil is perfectly safe to use on children.

Prickly pear cactus oil is not an oil that is normally ingested orally and our oil is produced for cosmetic use and is therefore not post-processed or heat-treated. Therefore, the oil contains natural bacteria and is not food-safe. However, it's great for skin and hair.

Basically, it is very unlikely that prickly pear cactus oil will block pores.

If you're not going to use your oil for a long period of time, it's best to refrigerate it. However, if you use it regularly, it is recommended that you keep it at room temperature. When prickly pear cactus oil gets cold, the oil solidifies, which is why it needs to be thawed again when it's time to use it.

Prickly pear cactus oil can not only be used by pregnant women, but is recommended for the prevention of stretch marks. 

Fortunately, prickly pear seed oil has no odour, but has a slightly sweet scent.

The colour of prickly pear seed oil is light yellow to slightly yellow-green.
