Groin fungus - Groin fungus

Groin fungus

SGroin or crotch fungus (also known as groin fungus) is caused by an infection of the skin in the groin and possibly the scrotum.

Fungus in the groin is most commonly found in men, so it's always a good idea to make it a daily habit to check your groin when you shower. By recognising the symptoms early, you'll also be able to get rid of it faster.

What is crotch fungus?

The scientific term for groin fungus is Tinea cruris or Dermatophytosis inguinalis/inguinioscrotalis. The fungus usually appears as a very large, reddish-brown scaly area in the groin, which may spread to the scrotum. The scaly area may appear very dry. Typically, there will also be both burning and itching involved.

Natural holistic treatment for groin fungus

Groin fungus can occur due to poor hygiene, tight underwear, a sedentary lifestyle or if the groin is kept warm and moist. The best oils for natural treatment of groin fungus are: Tamanu oil

How does fungus in the crotch occur?

Most of us carry one or more of the fungi that cause groin fungus. They feed on dead skin cells and usually do no harm. However, because they love warm and moist areas, men are more likely to get groin fungus, as this is often a favourable environment for them. Men who wear tight-fitting underwear or who exercise a lot may be at a higher risk of crotch fungus. Of course, this also includes those who have poor hygiene.

Fungus is transmitted through both direct contact and indirect contact, such as through towels. It is therefore important to get rid of the fungus quickly.

Natural treatment for crotch fungus

For men, it is very common for the fungus to appear on both sides of the groin. Common methods of treating fungus in the groin are by applying a antifungal agent on the skin, which can be bought over the counter. These products work well, but since you're looking for a natural alternative, we recommend Tamanu oil.

Tamanu oil has antibacterial properties and works therefore antiseptic on fungus (antifungal). The oil can therefore be applied to the affected areas and will work in the same way as the products you buy at the pharmacy. Just holistically instead of chemically. You may want to read the many good Reviews that our tamanu oil has received from our valued customers.

When using Tamanu, symptoms should disappear within a few days and certainly within two weeks. If this is not the case, or if you experience excessive redness/redness, swelling, drainage or fever, you should consult your doctor.

Apply Tamanu oil twice daily to the affected areas and apply only a thin layer of oil (use only a few drops) and distribute it by massaging it around the affected area. If you also have athlete's foot, you should treat this at the same time.

Prevent groin fungus: Prevent groin fungus from returning

To prevent the fungus from returning after treatment, it's important that you keep yourself clean and wash thoroughly every day. Especially if you sweat a lot or do physical exercise that makes you sweat.

On a daily basis, you should also make sure to stay dry, as fungus grows best in warm and moist areas of the body. Don't wear tight-fitting underwear or clothing that rubs against your crotch or inner thighs.

Finally, remember not to share your personal hygiene items such as towels and washcloths. You can also wash your duvets and underwear at a minimum of 60 degrees and with bleach (be aware that bleach will bleach the colour of textiles).
