Good oils for pregnant women - avoid stretch marks

Good oils for pregnant women - avoid stretch marks

Pregnant... and then stretch marks

You're pregnant, so first of all, congratulations. But now what? - Your belly is about to get big and stretch marks will appear and you'll no longer be able to go bare-chested.

Don't worry, don't worry. Take a deep breath and then remember that there's nothing you can do about it and when the time comes, you'll have plenty of other things to think about anyway ツ

It may not help much, but the fact is that stretch marks are a mystery that is hormonal in nature. Not everyone gets them, and not to the same degree from woman to woman.

Of the women who get stretch marks, there is a lot of doubt as to whether or not they could have been avoided. We don't specialise in stretch marks. However, we do know that there is a kind of psychological satisfaction for many women to do what they can to avoid them.

And here's where we can join in.

Stretch marks

When you get pregnant, biology tells us that your belly gets bigger and therefore automatically puts more pressure on it than normal.

If you take a nice balloon and inflate it halfway and then draw a nice pattern, you'll have your pre-pregnancy belly.

Now we slowly inflate the balloon more and you will immediately notice that the fine pattern cracks as it gets bigger.

Now, it's a little rude to compare a beautiful pregnant belly to a measly balloon, but you get the idea.

In principle, the same thing happens as your belly grows bigger and bigger during pregnancy.

Usually, the 6th or 7th month is when you are most at risk of stretch marks, as this is when the skin stretches the most.

But as a general rule, you're best off if you take preventative measures as early as possible.

Where stretch marks occur

It's not just pregnant women who get stretch marks. In fact, anyone can get stretch marks and it's not just on the stomach either.

Stretch marks are most commonly found on:

    • Abdomen or Abdominal cavity - especially around the belly button
    • Breasts
    • Yard
    • The bales
    • Upper and lower arms
    • Inner and outer thighs

Causes of stretch marks

This article focuses primarily on pregnant women, but others can benefit from the following prevention and management tips treatment for stretch marks.

The most common causes of stretch marks are

    • Rapid weight gain - e.g. pregnancy or bodybuilding or rapid obesity
    • Rapid weight loss - e.g. stress or dieting
    • Rapid growth during puberty

WARNING: Essential oils/essential oils

We recommend that pregnant women stay away from essential or essential oils. These are simply too harsh. If you still can't stay away from them, the recommendation is that pregnant women should use a maximum of 1.25%. This means that out of 100 drops of oil, a maximum of 1.25 of them are from essential oils.

Preventing stretch marks

There are no miracle cures that can completely remove stretch marks, so the best thing you can do is prevent stretch marks from occurring in the first place.

When the skin is stretched as much as it is during pregnancy, it needs moisturising lubrication.

As a rule of thumb, once you have stretch marks, it may already be too late. It is therefore best to prevent rather than wait.

Almond oil: The gentle carer

Almond oil is one of nature's most treasured oils when it comes to caring for skin during pregnancy. Its gentle and nourishing properties make it an ideal ally against stretch marks and dry skin. Almond oil is extracted from sweet almonds and is rich in vitamin E, fatty acids and antioxidants that provide countless benefits for skin health.

Almond oil has a light and absorbent texture that makes it suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive. During pregnancy, it's important to choose products that are gentle and free from harmful chemicals, which is where almond oil comes into play as a natural and safe solution.

One of the most remarkable properties of almond oil is its ability to moisturise and improve skin elasticity. When applied regularly, almond oil can help prevent stretch marks by keeping the skin supple and preventing it from stretching too much during pregnancy.

To get the most out of almond oil, you can gently massage it into the abdomen, hips and other areas prone to stretch marks. The massage process also stimulates blood circulation and increases the skin's natural healing capacity.

In addition to its stretch mark prevention properties, almond oil also has healing properties that can soothe itchy and irritated skin. Pregnant women who experience itching due to stretch marks or hormonal changes can benefit from applying almond oil to the affected areas to relieve discomfort.

Almond oil is also known to improve skin tone and texture. It can help reduce the visibility of scars and pigmentation, giving you a more even and radiant skin tone.

Although almond oil is safe and natural, it is always recommended to do a patch test on a small area of skin before using it on larger areas. This is to ensure you don't have any allergic reactions to the oil.

All in all, almond oil is a gentle and beneficial oil that can help you maintain the beauty and health of your skin during pregnancy. Make it a regular part of your daily beauty routine and enjoy its benefits as you prepare for your new journey as a mum.

Treatment for stretch marks

There is basically no product that can effectively remove stretch marks completely. We're talking more about smoothing them out and making them less visible, which they do over time.

Over time, stretch marks begin to fade. Often bluish or purple in colour, they can eventually fade more as they diminish.

Tamanu oil in the fight against stretch marks

Stretch marks are caused by rapid stretching of the skin. The hormones prevent the connective tissue cells from developing collagen and elastin fibres, which are vital for keeping the rapidly growing skin taut. The consequence of this is that the supportive material is now missing when the skin is stretched, resulting in the fibres in the connective tissue breaking.

As the skin is not prepared for the change in shape (when stretched), this results in the outer layer of the skin (the dermis) cracking.

Since stretch marks are mainly caused by rapid weight gain and loss, regular use of Tamanu oil Promote new skin growth and elasticity in growing skin.
